The Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the corporation.  The board is comprised of elected volunteers and charged with the responsibility of controlling and managing the operations of the corporation.  Governed by the Executive Officers, the board consists of twelve (12) trustees, elected by a majority of members present at the Annual Meeting of the Corporation each year.  The executive officers of the corporation are elected by the Board of Trustees on a yearly basis and consist of the following:

  • AVC President
    • The executive officer of the corporation.
  • Vice-President of Relations
    • The vice-president of the corporation, responsible for overseeing and coordinating alumni events, recruitment, and other committee work.
  • Vice-President of Financial Operations
    • The financial officer, responsible for ensuring financial stability of the corporation and undergraduate chapter.
  • Vice-President of Housing
    • The official housing officer, responsible for overseeing and managing all housing related functions of the corporation.
  • AVC Secretary
    • The executive manager, responsible for overseeing all communications, record keeping, and news of the corporation.

 

The Board of Trustees also has several standing chairs and committees that oversee several different operating functions of the corporation.  The standing chairs and committees of the corporation are appointed by the AVC President and Vice-President of Relations on a yearly basis and consist of the following:

  • Asset Committee
    • Provide future financial planning options, fundraising goals, asset protection and management for the corporation.
  • Fundraising Committee
    • Develop and carry out fundraising campaigns and events in coordination with the Vice-President of Relations and Asset Committee chair.
  • Scholarships and Awards
    • Oversee all scholarships and of the corporation by updating, distributing and collecting scholarship information.
  • Mentorship Committee
    • Provide support and guidance to the undergraduate chapter by developing specific goals, creating a budget and providing guidance and support as required.
  • Events Coordinator
    • Provide support to the Vice-President of Relations in regards to planning and managing all events sponsored by the corporation.
  • Recruitment Coordinator
    • Provide support to the Vice-President of Relations in regards to the recruitment of alumni, volunteers and mentors.
